CULTURE AND COMMUNITY

Culture comes alive when it is shared, questioned, and reimagined. Through literature, heritage education, student media, and community leadership, I create spaces where people can participate, express themselves, and build a stronger sense of belonging.

Literature Playhouse — a shared moment on stage

01 Literature Playhouse

House Co-Captain, Writer & Performer

As one of three co-captains of the House of Woolf, I helped bring literature beyond the page through discussion, adaptation, performance, and visual storytelling.

I organized two Borges poetry salons, guided the study of more than ten literary works, and coordinated events across writing, stage design, narration, and promotion. For Everlasting Regret, I co-wrote half of the adaptation and performed as the young Wang Qiyao for an audience of more than 300.

Literature Across Cities

During a literary study trip to Prague, I led one of eight student groups in exploring Kafka alongside the city’s Gothic, modern, and historic architecture. I documented our observations in a city-walk map, co-adapted A Country Doctor, and helped stage the work for an audience of 70 after returning to school.

02 Key Heritage

Co-Founder & Curriculum Designer

I co-founded Key Heritage to explore how Chinese cultural history could be taught through participation rather than passive instruction. After developing a ten-page program proposal and passing two rounds of review, our team enrolled more than ten students. I researched porcelain, gold mining, opera, and architecture, created 30-page teaching presentations, and helped transform a disengaging 60-page lecture into questions, workshops, and hands-on activities.

03 The Voice

Editor & Multimedia Storyteller

Over four years as an editor for The Voice @ Keystone, I helped document the people, events, and conversations shaping our school community.

I edited more than 15 original articles covering teacher interviews, musical productions, sports events, student perspectives, and campus life. By combining writing, photography, video, interviews, and visual layout, I helped these stories reach more than 100,000 readers.

04 Poetry Club

Club Leader & Anthology Editor

As leader of Keystone’s 20-member Poetry Club, I organize weekly discussions, collage-poetry workshops, chain-writing games, and literary gatherings that make poetry a shared creative practice.

I also edit the club’s 200+ page annual anthology, bringing individual voices into a collective publication. Sales support future editions as well as book donations to schools in Guizhou.

05 Dorm Council

President & Community Organizer

After being elected Dorm Council President from a field of seven candidates, I led a 15-member executive team and coordinated more than 55 student proctors serving over 500 boarding students.

I chaired weekly meetings, assigned event leads, staffing, and timelines, introduced council-wide updates, and redesigned Grade 9 orientation to help new students enter residential life with greater clarity and confidence.
